Given I like playing Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis on GBA, Sonic Classic Collection, and 3D Sonic the Hedgehog on the go, I’m very happy to see an updated version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 coming! Means more classic Sonic on the go for me!

Seeing how I loved the 3D effects in the original 3D Sonic, really looking forward to it.

Thanks Sega! Really did not see this one coming!

Although this is great news…what would be even better is a Sega greatest hits compilation hard copy release on the 3DS or the Wii U. Basically similar to the Wii releases of “SNK Arcade Classics” or “Data East Arcade Classics.” Please make it happen Sega. I would purchase this in a heartbeat.

Even though I’ll probably buy all of these, I’d much rather see more arcade games from that era. The Genesis ports just weren’t as impressive, especially if you compared Sonic 1 to the mobile port.

The Arcade Game mine from that era certainly is rich, and it’s really great to enjoy definitive & enhanced versions of some of them. The super scalar arcade ports in particular have all been inspired choices. However – the console port choices of the 1st wave of these remasters avoided the later generation technical showcase titles, and its incredible that some of these are now coming.

With Streets Of Rage 2 and the mighty Gunstar Heroes coming – enhanced, 3D’d and likely fan serviced up to their eyeballs – it’s obvious that they’ve overcome any remaining hurdles and become zen masters of the 3DS architecture. Good job they have impeccable creativity to match the technical chops.

Anyway, my slightly unrealistic Arcade Game Wish List:

– Golden Axe: Revenge Of Death Adder
– Golden Axe
– Shinobi
– Shadow Dancer
– Wonder Boy 2 in Monster Land
– Power Drift

My totally unrealistic (due to a few non-Sega, 3rd party developer’s titles) Mega Drive / Genesis Wish List:

– Alien Soldier
– Contra 4
– Monster World 4
– Volfied
– Assault Suit Leynos
– Panorama Cotton

This is great news, and I will continue to buy every one of these as long as you bring them out. I would love to see some more unique arcade ports that have not been seen elsewhere — since the Genesis library has appeared all over the place already. Outrun and Thunderblade are great examples of this. Now that the New 3DS has extra processing power, maybe you can bring us some Model 1 or Model 2 stuff like Virtua Racing, Virtua Fighter, Virtua Cop, Sega Rally, Star Wars Arcade, and Daytona USA!

If you guys happen to publish 3D Sonic 3, please don’t do Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles separately. PLEASE make 3D Sonic 3 & Knuckles instead. Sonic 3 was designed to be that whole game in the first place anyway, and I just hate seeing them separated as the combined version adds so much to it.
