Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX Gets a Special Launch Edition; Will Release in SeptemberHatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX, the unique 3D rhythm game developed specifically for the Nintendo 3DS, will now launch on Sept. 8, in North America and Sept. 11 in Europe. The game will be available in stores and digitally on the eShop for the originally announced price of $39.99. In North America, we will offer a special physical Launch Edition at retailers nationwide. This launch edition of Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX will include the game, premium outer box packaging, and a 3-foot wallet chain designed after Hatsune Miku’s iconic belt – a simple and stylish way for fans to represent their love for Miku. All copies of the game will include 19 double-sided augmented reality (AR) cards that show off additional dance moves and costumes. In collaboration with Good Smile Company, a popular Japanese figure company, Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX features Miku and all of her friends in their Nendoroid figure style. The game features 48 full-length versions of fan-favorite songs players can challenge themselves with by trying to match the rhythm in “Tap Mode” and “Button Mode,” each with multiple difficulty levels, which can be further augmented with challenge and support items. But the rhythm game is just one facet of Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX – players can also customize a virtual apartment for their favorite Miku character with decorations, seasonal items, and more. The Mirai Theater has replay functions so players can watch their favorite videos and add scrolling commentary. Choreograph entirely new routines by making new moves in the Dance Studio, and compose brand new song phrases in My Tune. This info can all be shared on customizable Profile Cards, which can be shared via StreetPass and kept current via SpotPass. Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX will launch on Sept. 8 for North America and Sept. 11 in Europe in stores and digitally on the eShop.

Awwww, North America-only special edition? D:
But, we’re still getting all the AR cards here in Europe, right?
Right?

Guys, I love you and all, with stuff like the 3D Classics. You know I love you guys.
But a week before release? And no Limited Edition for Europe? I’m grateful we’re getting the game at all, and I can live with the delay (these things take time after all), but keeping the lid on it until the last second just isn’t fair on the fans. At all.
I’m disappointed guys.

But, but I just put my preorder in and was excited to get it in a week when I have money for it. But cool stuff is cool stuff. Still wish we got what Japan got with the special Nendroid figure that came with their special version. *said face* Cause I would totally shell out the extra cash to get a fancy version of this.
But don’t think I’m not grateful for it coming over. I seriously thought I would never get to play this. But I love miku and would love to get all the cool stuff that japan got with its release. Miku is worth it. :3

Okay, I can handle delays, granted you could have posted this a little sooner instead of a week before the old release date. But this just give me time to finish F 2nd before Mirai comes out. Anyway, I do have a question. Is the Launch Edition like a pre-order bonus? Or is it a completely different thing, like how some games have the normal version then a special version that’s like twice the price or something. I ask this because one, you don’t mention a second price for the Launch Edition, and two, I’ve had this game pre-ordered at GameStop since it was listed on the site and I would like to upgrade my pre-order if at all possible, I’ve been wanting a Miku belt/chain (whatever it’s called) for a while now XD

It’s good to at least get confirmation on the release date, I’d been wondering what’s up with that.
Blows that Europe doesn’t get a special edition, but that’s nothing new for us.

will this be like a pre-order thing or something different and if so will it be available at best buy? because i was at best buy so pre-ordered the game there, and a lot of pre-order things are only available at ebgames. also, i really want that belt, chain thing.

You’re putting salt in the wounds of all the European fans over here. No “launch edition” for us, and we can’t even import it because it’s region locked. We get nothing to compensate for the delay, which sucks a lot.
I’ll still buy it, but you better keep the european price as low as the american one.

So, you delay Project Mirai DX in both America and Europe and you don’t give a Special Launch edition for Europe. Bravo, thanks for not bothering about European fans that also get the delay and don’t get anything in compensation.

I am curious about whether or not the western version will have the “Add Comments” feature like the JP version. AND whether the comments can be captured via StreetPass (again, like JP) and if it allows multi-region functionality. That is, if I take my 3DS to Europe and/or JP, can I capture a player’s comments?

Is this a sign of the times Sega? Announcing the delay a week before the initial release date? This reminds me so much of your now infamous answer on PSO2 “It’s still delayed”. The one thing I was looking forward to before my birthday, and it had to happen.

Then What, you’re delaying the game to december!? Screw you, Sega! I’m pissed off now!

Then this, and not even so much as an apology…
Horrendously appalling, Sega. Absolutely asinine of you guys

WHY A WEEK BEFORE IT CAME OUT?! T_T If I can ask though, can we at least get a Demo next week? Something to hold us over? Like a Demo with SING&SMILE or Tricolore Airline, the costumes, and Hard Mode. Something to give a taste of the game’s features, but not the full game. That’d be nice to show the western audience!

This delay is not understandable at all and all we get for waiting 4 months is AR cards and a miku wallet chain? Yet in Europe they don’t get anything. I don’t live there but getting nothing to compensate just sounds irritating. And what is a wallet chain anyways? There’s not even an explanation as to why it was delayed. I’m sorry if this seemed rude to you but I need to say this

I’m heavily disappointed in you guys.
First I wasn’t expecting a physical release in Europe because it wasn’t listed as a pre order at dutch gaming stores.
Now 3 month delay and basically telling everyone in Europe that they can go **** themselves if they want the day one edition.
I ask you why? why are big game companies always thinking Europe is less than the rest of the world?
You didn’t even respond on my tweet a week ago with the basic question if there will be a demo.
customer service -50/10

Why? Why do I even give you money, Sega? Why? If you guys even care, at all…please release this earlier than September. I WANT to play this game, but I can’t play during the school year. I want the summer to play… Please…

Well, thanks Sega. I’m going to be saving $40 because I AM NOT buying the game now.
What an abosultely stupid bonus for waiting for a game for 3.5+ months. In fall, when less people will buy because they’ve got school, rather than in sumer. And wow, that procrastination tho. What great business practice, realizing a week before release you’ve need 3 more months when there is so little to translate to begin with. Lol, and it should have been done already.
It’s obviously the english localization’s fault because Japan gets it on time….

This delay is unacceptable and with the only reason for it being you wanted to sell copies for a little extra cash with a few AR cards and a miku wallet chain is a huge slap in the face of Sega and Vocaloid fans. We deserve an explanation.

Come on, a WEEK before the release date? On a normal schedule, the game would be shipped out by now! I was prepared to go out an make the purchase in 6 days. This is ridiculous, you should be giving more advanced notice with release date delays. Bad business practice. The compensation is nice, but still. More than 7 days in advance would have been nicer.

I was just going to order this, after I had forgot to pre-order, due to various stressful events, and then I see it has been delayed to September….. that’s just too odd. This will have a hugely negative impact on the sales, you know. :/ September… after the summer…? This is a very illogical business decision. You should at least try to release it in the beginning of August.
The extras are nice, by the way, but… no Launch Edition for Europe…? I live in Europe (as do many others). Why do so many companies treat Europeans as if they are irrelevant…? So now I and others living in Europe have to wait until September for it – people in the U.S. get a nice compensation, but Europeans are told that they just have to wait, and will have to do so without the compensation that those in the U.S. will get. This is yet another extremely poor business decision. You should make a new announcement, stating that Europeans of course also will get the Launch Edition. Write it something like this: “Due to a mistake on our side, we failed to state that the Launch Edition of course will be available for Europeans, as well! We apologize for anyone we may have upset, and hope you will look forward to this special release for all European mikutards, as well. Thanks in advance for your understanding.” It doesn’t have to be true that you planned on releasing it in Europe… just say it and then do it. That is all. Otherwise, you will lose many customers. Singling out a large group of potential customers is a very bad business practice and I am very surprised that you would even consider this. In fact, I will be prepared to believe that you indeed did forget about the availability of the European release of the Launch Edition, as *not* releasing it is such an unwise way to treat customers that, if they would receive equal treatment, would be very happy….

I bet they delayed the game just to add English Subtitles to all the songs, so people won’t come complaining that they don’t understand the lyrics because it’s in Japanese like they did with Project Diva F.
They added the AR cards to find an excuse and to cover it up.
Personally, if THIS is the reason why they delayed it, I understand and don’t mind at all; I prefer having the full experience instead of playing a butchered game.
