Kellie’s Last Day at SEGAMy name is Kellie. You may not know my face or my name, but I’ve been the social media admin for Sonic the Hedgehog for nearly 7 years. In 2008, I joined SEGA with only a little knowledge of the game industry or Sonic, and today I walk out with a ton of professional and life experiences that I will be forever grateful for. (They made me a new one with the correct spelling of my name, but I kept this one because the error is hilarious!) It sounds cheesy, but SEGA was not just another job for me. My co-workers weren’t just that, and many weren’t just my friends — this has been my family. We spent all day working together, eating lunch together, and often hanging out together in the evenings or on the weekends. We traveled around the world together for conventions and business meetings. We laughed hard, and we worked harder. Like the time that we turned Aaron’s desk into Green Hill Zone when he went on vacation. From London, Paris, Tokyo, Mexico City, to all over the US, I have had an opportunity to see the world and meet some of Sonic’s biggest celebrities. I have fond memories of meeting Yuji Naka backstage at Sonic Boom 2011, of working closely with Takashi Iizuka, and Jun Senoue showing me around Joypolis in Tokyo before having some ramen. I also once got a speeding ticket while on a SEGA road trip to see venues for the 2013 Sonic Boom event. Sonic’s gotta go fast, but apparently I went TOO fast. It has been my honor to “be” Sonic the Hedgehog on social media, and to serve Sonic fans around the world. Although I will no longer be at SEGA, I leave you in capable, and perhaps familiar hands. Aaron Webber, known to many Sonic fans as RubyEclipse (and the same Aaron whose desk we made into Green Hill Zone) will be taking over social media and community relations for Sonic. Farewell and best wishes!

You are the absolute BEST and loveliest and deserve so so many hugs, lady. It was an absolute pleasure working with you with NiGHTS stuff and getting to hang out on a few occasions. You really made a difference to my community and I’m forever grateful for that. Because of people like you who care (really care) lots of positive things came into being. Thank youuuuuuuuu for everything! Best of everything to you xx

Working at SEGA looks super fun and I’m so glad you’ll be carrying all these wonderful memories onward with you! Thanks for doing such a great job in being the “face” of Sonic across the Internet; I’m sure it hasn’t been great at times. Best of luck with this next chapter of your life! 😀

From late night Waffle House trips, to the moment where we got pulled over for speeding (beautiful irony), you have been a pleasure to work with and a mentor for me, both in work and in many aspects of life. (P.S.: yes, I still have those CD’s you gave me!)
I’ll always remember the E3 talks, the coffee runs, our LA shuttle curse (that probably still holds true to this day), watching Mystery Science Theater after work in the conference rooms, and for countless other great memories during our time at SEGA – thank you, Kellie.

That was you? You were SO nice! And you would always answer the little questions people had. Provided they weren’t about SA3 or something else like that, those things the fanbase is notorious for. I seriously apologize for you having to see that, Sonic is apparently serious business. Best of luck.

Yeah. Sorry you had to deal with the whining this fanbase is known for, you were a really nice admin, actually.

Thanks for being a part of the Sega community.
Gotta admit “Killie Parker” sounds like a force to be reckoned with.

Good luck Kellie, I’ve been a Sonic fan since 1991 and still remember how I considered myself at the time like the “n1 sonic fan ever in the world”, but the truth is that I’ve always avoided the “sonic community”, just a personal choice, so I really don’t know the best of you in that community but it’s obvious you did great and you had to deal with a lot with such passionate fans!
By the way… is Ruby back at sega or is he taking the sonic social media thing as a hobby? lol

You were always incredibly helpful. I have kind of found dealing with Sonic stuff for the past several years painful at best, but you did a great job making it worth looking forward to. I will greatly miss you.
I was planning to ship you guys the honey mustard from Western New York like we discussed years ago, but it slipped my mind. Argh!
Best wishes with whatever comes next!
