Game Details

Journey to the lighthouse and join Fiete himself who is ready and waiting to challenge you in this very special memory game. Fiete is a very expressive opponent who will make sure to let you know how he’s feeling about each game as it progresses. He’s never shy to let you know when things aren’t going his way! You’ll work your way through various memory challenges like matching pairs, deciphering logical puzzles and solving arithmetic problems. This charming indie title has a very distinctive art style that we definitely encourage you to check out!

Developer Bio: AHOiii

Karz von Bonin, Programming
Karz is a professional musician and developer. He is responsible for the programming of Fiete Match and is the one to blame when Fiete beats you once again!

Jan Kloevekorn, Graphics
We owe the lovely graphics design of Fiete Match to Jan and Wolfgang. Jan graduated as a graphics designer in 2004, and was already showing his affinity towards games with his Jump N’ Run masterpiece. He is the proud father of two sons who are both at the perfect Fiete age.

Wolfgang Schmitz, Graphics
Wolfgang is the other half of the Fiete graphics team. He has already received several awards for his design projects. He hand-painted the Fiete pictures imbuing them with the great charm you see today. He has a 3 year old son – you wouldn’t have guessed – who loves playing Fiete!

Sven Morawek, Marketing
Sven is a “veteran” in the mobile games industry having working for more than 10 years at companies like Walt Disney, Gameloft, and Nokia. He has a degree in business administration and devotes himself to making Fiete a great global success. His 4-year-old twin daughters are enthusiastic Fiete beta testers.

The Big Indie Pitch @ Gamescom 2013

Once again, we teamed up with PocketGamer to bring The Big Indie Pitch to Die Kunstbar during Gamescom 2013! Check out the pics from last night and the incredibly talented indie dev team who won the SEGA media exposure prize.

Indie developers and fans alike came out to hang with us, play some of the latest SEGA mobile games, and pitch their best idea to a panel of judges.

As we networked, everyone had a chance to play the recently announced The Cave for iOS (coming soon). Mike Masuku, SEGA’s Head of Digital Mobile Marketing provided hands on demos and gave out some awesome swag.

Sonic The Hedgehog eventually made an appearance! It’s obvious that he is always a fan favorite.

Representing SEGA on the esteemed panel of judges, Neil Postlethwaite (far right), Head of Mobile Digital Development, critiqued each idea based on presentation, originality, creativity, fun-factor, and looks.

Taking a break from the pitches, attendees had a chance to win dinner with the SEGA team by participating in the Sonic Dash Community Challenge (download Sonic Dash for iOS for free here). No one was able to beat Sonic’s score…

However, no one left empty handed as everyone got a Sonic The Hedgehog hat! Amy White, SEGA’s PR Executive, wears one with style.

As the night progressed, the judges came across some of the most unique and innovative pitches. We want to thank everyone who came out and participated in the event! Alas, there can only be one winner. Congratulations to AHOiii for having the most creative idea! Be on the lookout for their game Fiete, developed by Karz von Bonin, Wolfgang Schmitz, and Sven Morawek (left to right).

Bringing the evening to an end, Sonic said “Hi!” to all his fans around the world. Check out this short Vine video!

– Sonic The Hedghog plushie
– Sonic Dash t-shirt
– SEGA iPhone 5 case

How It Works

1. You must be following us on Twitter to be eligible. (If you don’t have a Twitter account, you can create one by going to http://www.twitter.com and click the green “get started — join!” button in the center of the page.)

2. At dates and times listed above, we will announce the prize we are giving away, a word or phrase, and what number of response you need to be to win. Send us a direct message (DM) via Twitter and be that number to win the prize. (@ replies do not count as entries!) We only accept one direct message per person per prize!

Example:

We tweet “GIVEAWAY: Sonic T-shirt, size L. Be the 15th person to DM “Sonic Adventure” to win!” (don’t actually DM this, it’s not the way to enter)

You see this, and want to win it, so you send us a direct message that says “Sonic Adventure”. If you are the 15th person to do so, you are the winner!

Quotation marks do not matter, capitalization does not matter, but spelling does matter!

3. All followers are eligible to win all prizes, unless a restriction is noted. Restrictions are usually due to the prize being region-locked. For example, US games that won’t work on UK gaming systems. There may also be age restrictions due to the rating of the game.

4. We will announce the winner on our Twitter feed once eligibility is confirmed.

Other Assorted Information:

– No, you can’t know what number message you were – so please don’t ask! We will tell you that the information is classified!
– If you have questions during the giveaway, please contact us with an @reply. As you can imagine, we get a whole lot of direct messages during the contests and there is a very good chance we will miss your question if it is sent as a DM.

How to Send Direct Messages on Twitter

Due to a change in our account status with Twitter, you should be able to send us direct messages without us following you if you are using the Twitter website. However, third-party applications may not allow you to.

There are a few ways to send us a Direct Message on Twitter. The easiest way is:

1. Log in to your Twitter account.
2. Click on the person icon and select Direct messages from the drop down menu.
3. You’ll see a pop up showing your Direct message history. Click the New message button, highlighted below.
4. In the address box, type the name or username (SEGA) of the person you wish to send a message to.
5. Enter your message and click Send message.

You may also select the “direct messages” tab from your Twitter homepage, and select SEGA from the drop-down menu at the top of the page. Again, if you don’t see our name there, it’s probably because we’re not following you. Let us know, and we’ll follow you. If you still have questions on sending direct messages, please visit Twitter’s Help Section.

There are also many Twitter clients that you can use instead of using the website. These include TweetDeck, Twitteriffic, Tweetie, and Twhirl. Each of these programs works differently, so you’ll want to figure out how to send a direct message on the program you use. If you want to send us a test message, we’ll let you know if we received it or not. Please make sure your message says “test” somewhere.

PocketGamer Mobile Mixer @ Gamescom 2013

Last night’s PocketGamer Mobile Mixer was a huge success! We want to thank everyone who came out to network and listen in on the current and future state of the mobile gaming arena. We’ve got your back in case you couldn’t follow along on Twitter. Check out some pics from yesterday!

As industry gurus and SEGA fans began to arrive, they were greeted with Sonic Dash for iOS and a free SEGA iPhone 5 case.

Not only did we host a Sonic Dash Challenge for our fans, but some of the industry guests also participated in the PocketGamer Sonic Dash Challenge. The prize – bragging rights and a glass full of European candy!

Getting down to business, a panel line-up of some of the most respected mobile gaming experts shared their insight on the mobile market. Proudly representing SEGA was Mike Masuku, Head of Digital Mobile Marketing.

We all were surprised when a cake was brought in to celebrate the birthday of Chris James, PocketGamer MD. Happy birthday, Chris!

As the evening came to an end, so did the Sonic Dash Community Challenge. The top 3 high scores of the night won a dinner with SEGA, hosted by Dan Mitre, SEGA Community Manager. Congratulations to SEGA fans Salvatore, Dominik, Dennis and his friend Mesut (from left to right, first photo).
