We are excited to launch two community events for Napoleon: Total War to give you, that’s you, the Fans, the chance to come in and check out the game a month before it launches. In addition to getting some hands on time with Napoleon, we will also have Kieran Brigden from Creative Assembly on hand to answer all of your questions, and provide you with some insight into the development process behind the next game in the Total War series.

These events will be very intimate and we have multiple spots open for Blog/Facebook/Twitter/and Forum members to attend – with events in San Francisco, and New York City. Details, dates, and times are available below, be of the first to respond and you’ll be added to the list to attend the event, please be specific on when and where you’d like to attend. Attendees must live in and around the event destination (we can’t cover travel unfortunately). If you can make it and want to play Napoleon Total War, then post in this thread! We will follow up via email to confirm and give out details (be sure you blog email is accurate!).

Just announced today, the newest release in the Total War franchise, Napoleon: Total War, will feature the debut of the much anticipated Campaign Multiplayer. We have the full press release below, as well as some selected screens of the campaign in action.

LONDON & SAN FRANCISCO (January 20th, 2010) – SEGA® Europe Ltd. and SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced that, for the first time in Total War™ history, the Campaign Mode in Napoleon: Total War™ will feature both single player and multiplayer modes.

This much-requested mode will allow players to experience the full depth of Napoleon: Total War in a multiplayer environment – either working to stop Napoleon’s advance, or competing against each other to better his achievements. Each of the three theaters of war from Napoleon’s career – Italy, Egypt and Europe – are available out of the box in 2 player turn-based online games.

Another exciting multiplayer option has been added to Napoleon: Total War – Drop-in Battles. When starting a Single Player Campaign in Napoleon: Total War, players are presented with an option to allow Drop-in Battles. Drop-in battles bring a fresh challenge to the single player campaign mode by allowing the players opponents to be controlled in real-time by an online adversary.

Campaign Multiplayer has been made possible for Napoleon: Total War by the immense success that the Campaign Multiplayer Beta for Empire: Total War™ proved to be. The Beta started on December 7th 2009 with over 15.000 Total War fans helping out in the testing of this new Multiplayer Mode. Feedback from consumers has been very positive, and with the BETA still ongoing, consumers can contribute to the testing of this new addition to the Total War series.

Napoleon: Total War builds on the successful Total War series by taking all the features from previous games, such as the full 3D land and naval battles, the detailed campaign map, and an in depth diplomacy system by taking them a step further.

The retail exclusive collector’s version of Napoleon: Total War. This box version contains the full game and a STEAM unlock code that can be used to download two exclusive unit packs; the “Heroes of the Napoleonic Wars” Pack, and the “Elite Regiment” pack.

Steam Standard Edition

Standard Napoleon: Total War game with pre-order option to receive an additional unit, the Royal Scots Greys elite unit.

Napoleon: Total War Imperial Edition

Napoleon: Total War Imperial Edition on Steam includes the exclusive “Heroes of the Napoleonic Wars” pack, the Royal Scots Greys elite unit, and a copy of Medieval II: Total War which can be redeemed and downloaded over steam to play right away.
