Sports Dave

Dave could have been a professional footballer had he been more skilful. Possibly the best English player never to have been capped by his country, he now throws himself into all sorts of sporting challenges in his role at SEGA.

There is no sport Dave won't watch, and he can regularly be seen attending major football, snooker, tennis, motor-sports and athletics events. Which is fairly handy when SEGA boasts a line-up including Football Manager, Football Manager Live, World Snooker Championship, Virtua Tennis, SEGA Rally and videogames based on the Beijing 2008 Olympic license.

As the current SEGA Virtua Tennis champion, it's clear he has the skills to back up his billing, and Dave will be bringing you regular updates on his sports and motoring escapades.

Originally from the small town of Stafford, Dave was blinded by the bright lights of London six years ago, and has been sailing on the good ship SEGA for the last 2 years. His lifelong ambition is to travel to Lincolnshire, where he's heard the fish and chips are excellent at this time of year.

Dave says his profile picture doesn't do him justice - he doesn't look anywhere near that strange in the flesh.

Biggest achievement to date: "Thrashing the Brand Marketing football team 10-1 - it was a massacre."

Keith Burden - SEGA Rally Cars - Lancia ECV1

In 1986 Lancia displayed the ECV1 (Experimental Composite Vehicle) at the Bologna Motorshow. It was a composite technology concept car testing the use of carbon kevlar, thermosetting and thermoplastic resins, glassfibre and honeycomb in-car production. It was also considered as Lancia’s prototype Group S rally car (a formula sadly never to exist due in part […]

Keith Burden - SEGA Rally Cars - Baja Dune Buggy

Very early on in the SEGA Rally project it was decided that we wanted vehicles in the game that were just that little bit more extreme in appearance than the usual saloon based rally car.  The Baja Dune Buggy was a fairly obvious design choice as it is a very popular type of all terrain […]

Co-Driving With The SEGA Rally Boys

Co-Driving With The SEGA Rally Boys

Not many games have enjoyed the level of anticipation that SEGA Rally’s
move to next-gen has had. And as the release date ticks ever closer,
we’re jumping back into the Co-Driver seat with programmer Dave Hosier,
who answers our questions and reminisces on the years of abuse he gave

Pushing to Alpha - Condemned 2: Bloodshot

Pushing to Alpha - Condemned 2: Bloodshot

The butterflies start to grow in my stomach around this time every project cycle - and it’s a good thing. It always happens with every project - no matter how much planning, schedule updating, and iteration on features has been completed; time is rushing quickly by when you’re ‘pushing to Alpha’.
If any Producer says they’re […]

You’re probably quite aware by now that SEGA Rally has quite a varied selection of cars, so it won’t be much of a surprise to know that we have also included the Audi quattro A2 and the Peugeot 205 T16 Evolution 2.
Both of these cars were pioneers within the Rally scene, the Peugeot 205 […]
