SoS Review Pt 5 - “You Don’t Stop Playing Because You Grow Old…”“…You Grow Old Because You Stop Playing.” Such was the sentiment expressed on one of the drawings that were entered into the art contest - and a lot of drawing there were too. In fact i have a very large clump here that I hope to scan in at some point, all different styles and from various different ages. With our hearts warmed by the love for fair play and generocity and mushy stuff like that from T-Bird’s quiz the art contest also came to a close. Roarey Raccoon and Violet had chosen several pictures which we went through before finally choosing a winner which turned out to be a young lad of about four or five. Despite nerves, the young man clambered up on stage and was presented with a Sonic medal and a Nintendo DS for his trouble before getting a large and generous round of applause. His effort is shown below and a very infectious grin this Sonic has!
We were almost ready for the main event, however Sonic Cage Dome along with Guinness World Records had been busy with their Sonic game tournaments and attempts to beat the Emerald Hill Zone Act 1 speed run time. And as if by magic SCD member Louis actually managed to snag both the contest and the record which is now officially 20 seconds - the previous official record was 22 seconds.
The top 10 members all recieved a special t-shirt modeled here by the winner Louis, who of course also recieved a Nintendo DS and a Sonic medal - in fact he pretty much copped the jackpot didn’t he? The stage was then set as Sonic (who had been on stage to congratulate the winner) was ushered off it, though somewhat reluctantly and gingerly. In fact Sonic didn’t want to go, so as he sadly scuttled (or “Sonic Shuffle-d” as someone put it) off I ever so kindly mimicked the slow game over music. The musicians were ready to go, so all we needed now was my co-organiser Dreadknux to turn up again…

I’ll have to admit this: It does look heck of a lot better than when I did when I started to draw Sonic. XD And I was fourteen then! He does have a good understanding for art for a just a young kid…that left foot is in primary view, yo! If he sticks being a Sonic fan, I wonder what he could come up with when he’s in his teens. XD
Congrats for breaking that record…wow, 20 seconds? *faints*
…*snickers* Aww, poor ‘hog. XD
