With all the hubub over a certain new game that was finally confirmed yesterday I haven’t had the chance to put up on here a tip off from Fairfieldfencer over at the Bumbleking Forums. Namely that the latest Archie preview for #209 was up there.  Check it out:

The item yesterday got a lot of you asking about how you can get hold of the Archie comics, unfortunately outside of America (and Canada – I think) you can’t get a subscription. Boooooo! But there are other ways you can get both the Sonic The Hedgehog and indeed the Sonic Universe titles… Yay!

First off if you look about you may well be able to find a specifc comic retailer near you who might stock the title, or alternatively who may be able to order you the comics specifically. In the UK, I know some Forbidden Planet stores do stock STH and SU, but not that many issues from what I’ve seen.

Even if you’ve not got a specialist comic store near you, you’ll find that quite a few now have stores on the likes of eBay. I’m often asked for a recommendation, and myself and several on the Sonic Facebook page fans have all suggested A Place In Space. They’re my first port of call for new issues anyway and haven’t let me down yet, so there we go!

There is actually a third option as well, the Sonic Archives collections, and as Archie have just revealed their preview for volume 12 of the it all ties in really nicely (note these are the old strips)! The Archive collections are little A5-sized books containing a lot of the older strips. Not to be confused with the “premium selection” Select series which are your fourth option…. er.. I suppose.

Admittedly its something I bought, ho-hum, but still its very nice indeed.  Check it out.

Its from the Bumbleking Store, sent to me by Tracy Yardley! and its the actual artwork from (I think) Page 2 of Sonic Universe issue #1.  Its Shadow vs Metal Sonic mid-fight which is an awesome Sonic rumble if ever there was one.

Its going to go on my wall at home when I’m able to get a frame that fits.

Looks like Knux business, is he FINALLY going to give Dr. Finitevus a long overdue thrashing?! More after the page break.

I often talk on here about Archie and their updates but today I want to talk about a special effort by the STC-O crew, if you’re not sure what Sonic The Comic Online is it is, in short an online continuation of the Fleetway Sonic The Comic series which was in publication from 1993 to 2002 and clocked up 223 issues in that period – a total the main Archie STH title has yet to match!

Since the time it ceased publication though, the fans along with Megadroid (naturally) have continued the story and Sonic The Comic Online and the site has just brought Sonic The Comic #250 to the masses.

The online comic also features an article on the Sonic & The Black Knight art contest, as 3 of STC-O’s artists actually were winners in the SEGA Europe section.

I’d just like to pass on our congratulations to Stiv & co, here’s to another 250 issues! (You’d best get cracking!!)

Continuing on their third four part story, “Knuckles: The Return” with focuses on our favourite echidna (well, male one certainly – Tikal <3!) and his friends the Chaotix.

Okay now I’ve actually got my hands on Sonic The Hedgehog #205 I’ve decided that it possibly might just be the best fan reference comic ever – “Snooping As Usual”,  “I Hate That Hedgehog”,  the derranged Dr. Eggman quoting his own E.G.G.M.A.N theme tune and… punching Sonic in the face?

Yes, the addled genius litterally beats Sonic to the punch for once.
