Empire: Release Date and Minimum Specs ConfirmedHello all, the Empire: Total War release date has been officially confirmed – the game will be available in stores around the world from the 4th March. In addition, it will be possible to purchase the game as a digital download from 18:00 GMT on the 3rd March, with the exception of North American and Canadian customers who will be able to purchase a digital download from 09:00 GMT on the 4th March. You probably know already, but all retail and digital download copies require activation from Steam, so you’ll need to be connected to the Internet in order to get the game installed. For more information on this, visit www.steampowered.com. You’ve seen the game on this website, other websites and magazines, and it looks great, but will it work on your PC? If you’ve been wondering what the minimum specifications are, we can now tell you: Operating System: Windows XP 32(service pack 2), Windows Vista 32 OS. There you have it. If your PC hasn’t got the power, then it’s probably time for an upgrade before March 4th – it’s going to be too good to miss!

Oh no! I have more than enough computing power, but it’s running Vista 64. Will I need to set up a dual-boot?

Any chance you could post a screenshot of what the game looks like when running at those specified minimum requirements. I would love to know what the difference graphically would be before spending 2k on a new PC.
Also what are the recommended system requirements?

I see the minimum requirements, but what is really recommended to ensure smooth operation? How does the game work with the dual core processors and what is the minimum recommended (or suggested) dual core. As I will be upgrading my computer to ensure I bring enough “Gun to the fight” for the game, I would like to be able to purchase the right stuff the first time. Thanks for your help.

I assume Empire TW will run on Vista 64 bit?
The requirements state Vista 32, but I guess the game will run in 32bit emulation just like M2TW?
If not that would be the biggest bugger of the year

But on steam homepage it says that its activate on 4 march.
I assume that Totalwar.com have it right, and steam has it wrong.

SINGLE PLAYER/CUSTOM BATTLES
1) 13 maps only? Why? We need more like in Rome Total War.
2) We cannot change the number of deployable factions and that’s no good. In RTW we was able to change it.
3) Siege maps: very few and uncustomizable maps, except for factions choice. In RTW we was able to choice the number of opponents, the size and culture of settlements.
I hope you would release a FREE map pack in 4 or 5 months.
4) Naval maps number it’s ok. The sea is the same wherever.
However, thankyou for this game.
