Just Announced: Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing
Today we announced Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, a fast and furious battle to the finish line in this supercharged racer. Developed for the Xbox 360®video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Wii™ system, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and the Nintendo DS™., Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing will speed into stores in early 2010. In a frantic battle to the checkered flag, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing sees Sonic and friends speed around tracks set in medieval castle ramparts, lush rainforests and bustling cities, all taken from the visually rich and varied universes of Sonic and SEGA. Fan favorites such as Dr. Eggman, Tails, AiAi, Amigo and many more will join Sonic in their custom built vehicles, revving their engines and jostling to stay ahead of the pack. Each character will race around the track in cars, planes, motorbikes, and in AiAi’s case – a banana mobile! Secret short cuts, swift handling and avoiding strategically placed obstacles are certainly the best way to get to the top of the podium. And winning is only part of the fun in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing! Each character has a specific All Star move such as Super Sonic, Banana Blitz and Tails Tornado, allowing a quick way for competitors to get back into the race! Power ups and weapons can also be collected around the tracks and used against the opposition to ensure they don’t become a threat to that number one position. Players can battle it out in single or multiplayer mode, allowing up to four friends to race in frantic split-screen action, or up to eight players to compete online in the ultimate racing showdown. If this is from the same people that did Sega Superstars Tennis, i’m there! Hope we can see some Virtua Fighter representing this time around. Maybe even some Phantasy Star Online or Universe?

Why Sega? Grew up with the hedgehog since I was a child on Sega genesis. And you put the fastest thing alive in a car. He did not need a werehog/sword/car back then. But you guys at Sega continue to amaze me to show me otherwise. Go ahead and continue milking one of the best video game mascots of all time for Sega’s benefit.
I WILL THINK ABOUT BUYING THIS GAME, BECAUSE IT IS AMAZING THAT YOU PUT THE FASTEST THING ALIVE IN A CAR RACING OTHER PEOPLE. WHEN HE CAN CLEARLY OUTRUN ALL OF THEM WITH HIS OWN 2 FEET. THIS GAME IS GOING TO SHOW OFF HOW MODEST SONIC IS BY LETTING EVERYONE SEE HIM RACING ON EQUAL GROUNDS.

Sega, you messed it up big time! SONIC used to be my favorite franchise! Now, you put him in a car!? What are you guys thinking!?!? I know fans, They want a 2-d Sonic, or Sonic adventure 3, Not world adventure, ADVENTURE 3!Sonic fans are okay with Jason g. BUT GET RYAN DRUMMOND BACK!!!11!! He was the best Sonic actor ever! So, farwell to Sonic the hedgehog. You SEGA or SONIC TEAM have made him one of the worst mascots this generation. Iam sorry, but unless you guys make a really good Sonic game, SONIC is dead to everyone. I heard from many Sonic fans, that they hate Sonic now. So please make one really good game, to make up for all the bad.

Commenter #6 don’t speak for everyone. I hate the idea of this game and I’m not a fan of Superstars Tennis.. but I liked where Sonic Team went with Sonic Unleashed. You can go on moaning about how you don’t like what they’ve done but never use a line like “SONIC is dead to everyone” especially when that is flat out wrong. Also, I don’t think the worst mascot of a generation would be selling as well as Sonic has, even if on namesake alone, he and SEGA continue to sell their products amazingly well considering the age of the franchise and the fact that the world is in recession. So yeah.. go Sonic, thanks for the fun in Unleashed, but you can take your F-1 racing elsewhere while I wait for the next real game.

Okay, seriously guys, this isn’t the first time Sonic’s been put in a car. Sonic Drift and Sonic Drift 2 anyone? Quit complaining! It’s no reason to ditch the franchise, just don’t buy this game if you don’t approve of it.
I opted out on tennis but this seems like it could be fun.

Bowie u not understand…Sonic dont “die”…just lost your magic…I’m a real fan of Sonic, but i cant accept a bad work with my favorite character…just remember, you’re a fan and you need to want the best of Sega…not the “good”, but the “best”…
Sonic is only death for fakers… Fans believe in a “Sonic ressurection”…trust in their efforts…
Sonic one of best characters of the world…think about…they need to give more time and respect to this character…
One thing…plz dont create more characters…We have good characters…
Everyone says “like a Mario kart”…but its like a “Diddy Kong Rancing”…remember?

I think Sonic can be cool useing anything, a sweet blue car does’nt matter. Mario should be greatful he did’nt challenge Sonic to a drag race. From the trailer I think Sonic got his drivers license!!

when are they going to make a game more like Sonic Adventures 2 Battle. That was the bomb. i love how they used rock song for sonics them. I Think sonics thems should be Rock songs like Shadow the Hedgehog (The Game). More adventure and rock theme games for sonic would be awesome.

Cool this game will out rank Mario any day with the plus of All Star moves and super speed hopefully though i’d need gameplay vids to make my mind up fully.
I don’t mind sonic being put in a race car but i’d rather have a game ON FOOT running insted like a JUST DAYTIME sonic unleashed

Look people if you don’t like this game simply don’t buy it don’t make such a big fuss about it. Im sure Sega knows what its doing.And how do you know this is going to be a bad game have any of you ever played it.People said Sonic Unleashed was going to be a bad game but it wasn’t.

I don’t think the game is going to be good like for instence.
Diddy Kong Racing-2 out of 10 because they try to copy Mario Kart DS.
Mario Kart- 9 out of 10 because it was the first Mascot to ever bring up racing.
I think that Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing is maybe going to be a 6 out of 10.
It looks like a game like Sega Superstar Tennis a game that is going to be left out.
But you will never know if the game will come out good.
My opinion never judge a book by its cover.

people seem to be complaining about the “WHY IS SONIC IN A CAR?!” well, I have an pretty solid answer for that
1) being a ALL STARS game, Sonic has to be there since he’s Sega’s main character
2) being the fastest is exactly the reason they put in in a car, since Sonic is more insanely fast than a racing car, making him run on foot would be unfair, since he would win all the time, and there wont be any competition
anyway, that’s just my opinion, I would give it a second chance if I were you guys
one more thing, I hope they’ll include NiGHTS and Billy Hatcher in this game

Listen ok sega is doing a great job ok! Sonic’s games all rock ok i love the swords the ,werehog, and everything ok sonic cant do the same things always he is trying new stuff that are fun and if u dont like it there are plenty of other characters u can be a fan of ok i think this will make sonic even more popular i mean everyonr loved mario kart wii hao about sonic in a kart thats so cool. Please sega one thing please add Ristar and vector man to this game many sega fans miss them. And thank you sega for making this game.

In the movie Sonic’s Car looks like it was the Mach 5 painted blue! I can’t wait for it to be released. What if Crazy Taxi was representing but not driving the taxi that be HILARIOUS! Unless at the end of the game he gets fired then there is no hope. OH, and #19 I had to wait for three months to play and it’s not worth the wait.

If you look on the E3 demo of the game then you will see that shadow IS in the games as he is driving a motorcycle!
I think they should put silver in driving like a hovercar or something from the future and blaze driving a (u think of something coz i cant).

I hope there are a lot of good stages and characters. I’m hoping for Alex Kidd and Ristar. Dynamite Headdy and Altered Beast too would be awesome. I’m also hoping for a lot of game references, like the items and vehicles should mostly be based off of Sega games. (like Alex Kidd’s motorcycle or a Sonic shield) This is sure to be fun. Don’t try to compare it to Mario either, Enjoy it as its own game, Mario & Sonic aren’t enemies here.

This sounds great. Though I’d love to see more Sonic mascots in this game; like Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge, and perhaps Omega; than characters like AiAi or Nights. This is just my opinion. Also, I would love to see a Sonic Adventure 3 and a (2D) Sonic the Hedgehog 4 sometime soon. But other than that, I love the daytime stages in Sonic Unleashed. I just wish the Werehog character wasn’t included.

Please, please, PLEASE have Silver the Hedgehog playable in this game. He’s my favorite character and he isn’t in many other Sonic games. + I would also love to see Jet the Hawk , Blaze the Cat and Metal Sonic as well from the sonic universe.
